Africa Issues Project Due 3/17

Africa Issues Project

    •

In groups of 3, you will research Africa’s modern day issues. Once you have spent class time researching the issue, you will choose the 3 biggest issues, in your opinion, facing Africa today.  Your group will present your findings to the class. In your presentation you will describe:

      • What the cause of the issue is
      • The impact of the issue on Africa (both short term and long term if the issue continues in the current manner
      • The impact of the issue on the US
      • The impact of the issue on the rest of the world
      • Solutions to the issue

      Your presentation must have:

        • A visual component to show people what is going on
          • This may take various forms, but it must be of a visual nature (meaning pictures not so much words)
        • A verbal component (meaning you will present orally the project without reading a paper). You may include this with your visual presentation.
        • A separate public awareness component. The public awareness component will show people how they can help with the issue. This can be done through social media, handouts, videos distributed online, walking up to people and discussing the issue, etc.

Failure to have all the components by that date will result in a zero for the entire group.

All members of the group are expected to participate in both the work and the presentation. Failure to do so will result in a zero for that student and a grade reduction of one grade for the group. Others will be counting on you so you must do your part.
